Father's Day is nearly here, and graduations, awkward as they might be this year, are still happening. Our Father's Day gift guide has you covered if you need to get something for dad. And we also have gift ideas for grads. But if you're on the hunt for good deals for graduates (and dads), read on. We've combed through the weekend's deals to bring you our top picks for laptops, cameras, home goods, videogames, and more.
Microsoft Surface Pro 7 with Black Type Cover for $799 ($230 off): This is a good deal on Microsoft's best hybrid tablet/laptop. It offers the Core i5 chip, 8 gigabytes of RAM, a 128-gigabyte SSD, and includes the Type Cover.
Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15-inch Laptop for $500 ($90 off): This is a solid laptop. Just be aware that the 8 gigabytes of RAM is soldered and not expandable, despite what the product page says. Still, in this range, 8 gigabytes of RAM is pretty standard. You also get a 6-core AMD chip and a 256-gigabyte SSD, which are very good for this price.
Google Pixel 3A for $340 ($59 off): This isn't the best deal we've seen on Google's affordable phone—last month it was as low as $280. But at $59 off, it's still a great value. As you can read in our review (9/10, WIRED Recommends), the 3A has one of the best cameras on a phone of its price, it's plenty powerful, and its battery lasts a whole day. Just know that a new version will likely launch this month.
Nomad AirPods Rugged Case for $10: WIRED readers get an exclusive discount that drops the price by $20; just use the promo code WIRED67 at checkout. This case is for the first- and second-gen AirPods (not the Pro), fitting snugly and offering a more elegant look over Apple's glossy case. If you have the wireless charging case for the second-gen AirPods, it will still charge, but the LED indicator is covered up. The leather comes from a distinguished US tannery, the Horween Leather Company.
Western Digital Blue 1 TB Internal SATA SSD for $110 ($80 off): If your laptop hard drive is running out of space, this 1-terabyte drive might give you a little more room.
Apple Watch Series 5 44 mm for $329 ($100 off): The best smartwatch on the market (8/10 WIRED Recommends), the Apple Watch Series 5 has only one major drawback: It only works with iPhones. But if you're all in on the Apple ecosystem, this is a good deal. Amazon also has it for $329.
Fitbit Charge 4 for $130 ($20 off): We like the Charge 4. It's one of the only fitness trackers you'll find at this price with built-in GPS. Its sleep tracking is also superb. If you want to save a little dough, the Fitbit Charge 3 is also on sale.
Roborock S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop for $400 ($200 off): We have yet to try this particular model from Roborock, but we like the S6 for being super quiet.
Apple HomePod for $200 ($100 off): If you have an Apple Music subscription, the HomePod (6/10 WIRED Review) sounds amazing, and it looks great too. It is very much tied to Apple's ecosystem, which can be limiting.
Google Home Mini for $29 ($20 off): If the coral color works with your home, this deal is a good way to test out the smart home waters without spending too much. It's not the newest version—that'll be the Nest Mini—but the differences between the two are small.
Segway Ninebot Foldable Scooter for $569 ($20 off): We haven't had a chance to fully review the Ninebot yet, but senior writer Adrienne So took one for a spin at CES earlier this year and enjoyed it. This isn't much of a deal, and you need to add the promo code NEW20, but it's still some savings.
E3, the annual videogame conference, was canceled this year because of the pandemic, but game developers and console makers are hosting their own virtual presentations, all of which you can catch here. Often, there's a slew of videogame deals to commemorate the show, but even with E3 gone, the deals are still here. We have an entire post dedicated to the sales we've seen so far. Here are a few highlights, plus some extras.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate First Month for $1 ($14 off): Ultimate includes an Xbox Live Gold account, around 100 rotating Xbox One games to play anytime, and access to play on PC. You can also save on a three-month membership.
Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One) for $10 ($5 off) Should you still be playing Halo? Yes, yes you should.
Super Mario Party (Switch) for $42 ($18 off): Possibly the most enduring videogame character ever. You can never have too many Mario games.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Switch) for $15 ($45 off): See what I mean? There's always another Mario game.
Rage 2 (PS4) for $40 ($20 off): Our game reviewer, Julie Muncy, has some issues with Rage 2—it starts slowly and predictably—but in the end, she says it "will find a passionate audience who are able to find their own joy in its spaces." If that's you, here's a chance to pick it up at a discount.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Standard (Switch) for $10 ($10 off): We haven't had a chance to play this one yet, but we hear good things—especially if you're a fan of The Witcher series.
