Prisma, a photo app that turns your images into virtual paintings, is now available for Android.
The app had previously been made available in a limited beta, but the registration process has now been dropped and the app is available to download directly from Google Play. At the time of writing the company's servers were overloaded due to high demand.
First launched for iOS at the beginning of July, the app has been downloaded more than ten million times and over 400 million photos have already been turned into virtual works of art, which goes some way towards explaining why its servers are struggling.
It's by no means the first app to try and turn photos into 'artwork', but Prisma's AI-based approach helps it give images and more human, natural look. Support for video and live streaming filters is on the way, but there's no set launch date for the new features as yet.
