Lisa Wood Shapiro has been a WIRED contributor since 2018, covering air quality, AI, accessibility software, and gear like air purifiers, humidifiers, and air quality monitors. Previously, she wrote for Vogue, Outside, and Real Simple magazines. She has also written about her dyslexia for WIRED and is the author of the motherhood memoir Hot Mess Mom. Before that she was an Emmy-winning television producer whose work has appeared on PBS, A&E, and Nickelodeon. She is currently writing a book about her experiences working in whiskey distilleries. She studied film at New York University and has a master’s degree in special education from Bank Street College of Education.
