Of all the kick-ass cosplay we saw this year at Comic-Con International, there was one that stood out for both its prevalence and awesomeness: Rey. Over the course of the con it felt like you couldn’t swing a lit lightsaber and not hit someone dressed like the Force-sensitive young scavenger from Jakku. And considering how important Rey’s character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was to an entire generation of young female Star Wars fans, it was a wonderful thing to behold. Stephanie, 20, made her costume herself. “I grew up with Star Wars and when I was little I used to pretend to be an Ewok,” she says, “So the chance to dress up as a cool badass woman that was part of the childhood movie series that I followed, it was amazing.”
