If you're looking for a cheap e-reader and/or handheld Amazon consumption device, today is your day. Amazon has announced a one-day-only price cut on a few of its Kindle e-readers. It's all in celebration of the fact that we won’t have to shut off devices during takeoff and landing anymore, because we're all a bunch of babies who can't live for five minutes without staring at our precious devices.

Today only, you can get 15-percent off the price of certain Kindle models by entering a promo code when you buy them on Amazon. It's a blatant PR move, ripe for the taking-advantage-of.

Three Kindles are eligible for the price cut: The Kindle, which costs $59 today instead of $69; The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD, which costs $118 or $144 today instead of $139 or $169; and the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX, which costs $195 to $348 today instead of $229 to $409. To get the deal, enter the code “ThnksFAA“ in the “Gift cards & promotional codes” box at checkout.

Do you want the Kindle Paperwhite or the Kindle DX for a lower price today? No dice. They're not part of the deal.
