Cutely named as they are in the preview clip above from “The Gathering,” Saturday’s new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, there’s probably a good chance the kids are alright. Cartoon Network’s otherwise dark and political CGI series, now in its fifth syndication-worthy season, could soon have a kinder, gentler Jedi master now that Disney has Force-pushed $4 billion in George Lucas‘ general direction.

Yoda also makes an appearance in “The Gathering,” to show Jedi new-schoolers how to build lightsabers using the Kyber crystals, which were previously shown off with somber complexity in Genndy Tartakovksy’s crucial 2-D iteration of The Clone Wars. Which one can only hope Disney will now air, somewhere. (Anywhere, please.)
The Star Wars franchise’s once-sacred temples and templates are likely now forever changed with Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm. It will be hard to watch The Clone Wars without dreaming up ever more viral Star Wars spinoffs and ancillary strategies. Let go your feelings.
