Food is a very important part of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, especially to hobbits, who like to eat and eat often. So it's not surprising to see a special menu from Denny's inspired the upcoming movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Denny's is one of the regular places my family goes to when we go out to eat. All of us like breakfast food and we usually go on a day when they offer their kid's eat free special. As a big Tolkien fan, I was pretty excited to see that there will be a special menu for The Hobbit.
From what has been released of the new menu, it seems several Denny's classics have been retooled just a little bit to fit the Middle Earth theme. Some of the items will be Bilbo's Berry Smoothie, Gandalf's Gobble Melt, Hobbit Hole Breakfast, and more. The entire menu has not been released yet.
While there will be no lembas on the menu, I'm looking forward to trying some hobbit treats at Denny's. The new menu will debut on November 6th and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14th. You can read more about this story at boingboing.net.
