On June 30th this year as we cross into July 1, international timekeepers will add a second to the clock. The time will be 11:59:60 before hitting midnight. Daniel Gambis, head of the Paris based Earth Orientation Service said that the addition of leap seconds are caused by the tidal pull of the moon and an atomic clock that runs a little too fast. This is the 25th leap second added, the last was in January 2009.
What will you do with your extra second?
