Everyone has their reasons for loving Star Wars (or not) – some live for Stormtroopers, others are fans of Luke Skywalker and still others just really like Wookiees. Now, thanks to the glories of video editing, it's possible to watch just the things any particular fan wants to see.
The folks at the Cussing Channel – who previously brought you all the gear-shifting in the Fast and the Furious flicks – have now compiled eight supercuts from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, the seminal sci-fi film that celebrates its 35th anniversary this week.
"We did Star Wars because it was our most requested movie to supercut, by far," Cussing Channel's Jeremy Scott said in an e-mail to Wired. "Because it's so iconic, we thought one supercut wouldn't do it justice ... so we blew it up."
He means that literally: One of the supercuts is just a collage of all the scenes where blasters get fired. The others are (in no particular order): A breakdown of just the essential plot, a collection of all the shots of spaceships, reels of nothing but R2-D2 and Uncle Owen, a Jawa compilation and clips of Chewbacca's "dialog" and people saying "the Force."
Check out the supercuts in the clips above, starting with "Just the Essential Plot" (natch).
