The rapid-fire video, which also packs a wonderful shout out to the former free-streaming limits of Megavideo, grew out of director Adrien de Grivel’s idea to have the song’s title splashed across many different backgrounds.

After some brainstorming between the Grivel’s studio MA3 and the Supermen Lovers (the stage name of Guillaume Atlan), an idea was formed to have the three simple words appear over graphics and art from all over. They shared the concept with graphic designers and artists of all stripes — and a lot of them came back with memes.

“At the beginning the game was: ‘Say No to whatever annoys you with The Supermen Lovers!'” the band said in an e-mail to Wired. “And so some of them are really serious — the one about AIDS for example, the one about racism, there’s like every dictator who has walked the Earth, etc. Some of them are just pure funny, hilarious thoughts about nowadays’ consumer-friendly society. And some of them are pure ‘Say No’ to internet memes.”

They ended up with 150 different panels depicting all kinds of cultural themes — from Saddam Hussein to Street Fighter — and a pulsating clip that looks like what would happen if Tumblr made a music video.

Check them all out in the NSFW clip (there’s brief nudity) above. Hear more from the Supermen Lovers and the act’s new Fantasma Disco EP here.
