Star Wars Remix

While the opening crawl locates the Star Wars universe in a galaxy far, far away, true fans know that its inhabitants are all around us. Whether in found objects or in items repurposed by obsession passion into something Jedi-worthy, there are many opportunities to discover Star Wars in everyday life.

Star Wars Remix is a new blog devoted to found objects and DIY creations that take us to that far away galaxy. Founded by Emma Beddows and Scott Walker with help from Noach Scalin and Micah Scalin, the site will be updated twice a week with reader-submitted repurposed objects. Their focus is neither on fan art or on digital creations, but on "your world, remixed into the Star Wars world. The emphasis is on everyday objects. As in objects you come across...well, every day! They can be natural (rocks, clouds, leafs, mountains, sand, fields, etc.) or artificial (soup strainers, an automobile grill, a paper clip, a cardboard box, etc.)."

While some of the projects -- like these amazing stormtrooper helmets made out of sneakers--are probably a bit advanced for kids, other photos are clearly within the skill set of most Padawans.
