Planescape: Torment used to fetch a fair price on eBay. Those days may be over.
Classic game retailer Good Old Games started offering the beloved RPG as a $10 digital download today.
Good Old Games specializes in selling classic PC games, free of DRM and at bargain prices. The company caused a stir last week when they led fans to believe that their service was going under. But the whole affair turned out to be a hoax meant to promote its relaunch. The website soon re-appeared with new features and new games like Baldur's Gate.
For my part, all is forgiven now that Good Old Games has made it so easy for modern-day gamers to suggest this under-appreciated gem. Planescape: Torment was first released in 1999. The game, set in a Dungeons & Dragons universe, was produced by Black Isle Studios – the outfit responsible for the original Fallout games.
Game critics regularly cite Planescape as one of the best role-playing games of all time. Now you can find out why.
