On November 20, Xbox Live’s Game With Fame Sessions slams the pedal to the metal with Jack Black and Kyle Gass, two of the craftiest ax murderers in music. If you think you’ve got what it takes to jam with them, and have shelled out enough dough to become a gold member, then hop online at 8 p.m. ET and bring your best game.
You’re going to need it.
Because for two solid hours, Tenacious D will bang heads with gamers on Rock Band 2. Send a request to their gamertags JBTenacious and KGTenacious, and you might just get lucky enough to trade tasty riffs the likes of which Tenacious D laid on the devil himself, played by Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, in the band’s underrated laugher Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. The totally unsafe-for-work video above shows what that carnage looks like. Are you sure you want some?
The jam-off is in honor of Tenacious D’s DVD compilation The Complete Masterworks 2, which features a live concert, a one-hour documentary on The Pick of Destiny, videos, late-night appearances and more deafening miscellany. But fans of the deadbeat duo, Rock Band 2 and guitars in general don’t need any real motivation to matches axes with Black and Gass.
The challenge is motivation enough.
