We wondered what Sony BMG was up to with its frankly absurd MusicPass scheme, which, although DRM-free, required a trip to a store to buy a download code for the music. Teaming up with Amazon makes more sense, and of course is a poke in the eye for Apple's iTunes Store. Congratulations, Sony, and welcome to 1999.
